Indicate somehow from which day on a newly created resource is really available/bookable
A newly created resource it not necessarily available from the day he or she is created in the hub planner. It should be possible to set a "Available from" date for a resource. And the resource shouldn't be bookable before his or her actual availability. Further on in the grid it should be somehow visually indicated that the resource can only be booked from day x on. For freelance/contractor resources it could also be helpful to set an "Available until" date and indicated it accordingly in the grid.

You can now mark resources as not available directly within the scheduler, which will set them as non working days. In turn, resources will not appear as available nor will their data be showing in reports. Also suggest to perhaps jot a note or use a custom field to determine when their starting date is.
You can set multiple intervals and custom availability within the resource profile too.

Agree, a simple resource field of start date and end date would be really beneficial to capacity planning. Having too much capacity before start date, and having to time the exact data update for when the resource becomes available is not ideal for longer lead time planning.

nice suggestion, thanks for submitting. I will pass this on to the UX team to take a look at and add to their list. In the mean time a possible workaround would be to create a "not available" event and book it in the place where the resource is not available so at least other team members can see this visually and not book it.
Thanks.
