Deactivate budget categories
We sometime use budget categories to represent time based phases on a project e.g. mobilisation. This allows us to track the actual costs against what we originally estimated. However, we have encountered issues where time is booked later in the project against budget categories that represent earlier phases. This happens when a resource adds a category manually in their timesheet. By default it picks the first budget category from the list. Resources forget to change this.
This issue would be solved if we could have the ability to deactivate a budget category once it is no longer needed. This should keep the budget category in the system for reporting purposes, but prevent new time from being booked against it and prevent new bookings from being made related to it.
