Set events to reduce capacity of resource if booked against them
We currently use events to represent non working time like Holidays, Sick Leave, Compassionate leave etc.
However, when we report on utilisation the %utilisation uses the (total project time)+(total event time) / (capacity). The only thing that changes the capacity is changing the availability calendar on the resource or setting central company holidays. This means that the utilisation is not displayed correctly.
E.g. I have a resource that has 2 weeks booked against the Holiday event in August and no other bookings in the month. Their utilisation is currently displaying as 44% when it should be 0%
If we could set an event to reduce capacity then this would solve our problem and the utilisation bar graphs would calculate correctly.
You can now remove the project / event time from availability /utilization and capacity on reports. Simply navigate to the 'Advanced Settings' tab on the modal and check/uncheck the box to include 'Availability on Reports'.
