What's Next for Hub Planner?

Below you can help shape the functionality of Hub Planner by suggesting your idea. We want to make sure we are listening to the users of Hub Planner and incorporating your Feedback within our Project Roadmap.

  1. Dashboard - select a week (not only for the current week)

    On the current dashboard, we only see the data for the current week.
    It would be nice to be able to select a particular week (maybe just 2 weeks before the current week, doesn't have to be 3 months before) instead of doing a report. On Mondays, it would help me see the %age of hours reported the week before for example.
    It would be way faster than doing a report.

  2. Improved accessibility, #a11y, improved colour contrast, improved log-in feature, improved options to edit and see a week at a glance.

    Improved accessibility - for screen-reader software like JAWS and NVDA, better mobile optimisation, in line with WCAG 2.1, better colour contrast, including especially for the links, and keyboard control options.

    Removing the background images from the log-in page, to avoid extra distraction.

    Improved visibility of a week at a glance.

    Improved authoring tool settings (ideally thinking at least about ATAG) so that it is easier to add leave and key events across all team members.

    Change the name from "resources" to "staff"? or "people".

  3. improved timeline export

    Would like to export the timeline for a whole project, not just what's visible on the screen - and also in an editable format, such as AI or PDF. This way we wouldn't have to duplicate in another program to be able to send a basic version to a client for agreement.

  4. Remove unnecessary white space

    There is too much white space around the second row (where the Scheduled Time and Reported Time is displayed and the bottom of the frame. Also, the filter takes up too much space - can't this be a expandable - click on a down arrow or something and it expands to display the filter entry box, otherwise takes up too much valuable space. The column headers for year and month is also larger than necessary. Removing all this unnecessary spacing will help provide more space to other important resourcing info. Thanks.

  6. Freeze Col in Resource Availability Heat Map.

    I'd like the ability to freeze the name column in the Resource Availability Heat Map. So that when I scroll across to see availability I can still see the names of the resources. Right now, I have to move back and forth.

  7. Possibility to configure the role names

    We would like to be able to configure the name of the roles. Account handler does not make sense in our business, where a person with that role is 'Project Manager' or 'Delivery Manager' and a team member is a 'consultant' etc.

  8. iCalendar Feed for each Client

    Similarly to the Resource or Project iCalendar Feeds, it would be useful to have a Client iCalendar Feed, that would include the bookings of all projects linked to a Client in a single feed.

  9. Styling options for reporting

    Would be great to have the ability to style reports to make them easier to view. For example, when adding the column 'groups' to a report its difficult to see where one type of resource group ends and another starts. If there was any way to have a double space or bold line between groups to make different segments of the report easier to view.

  10. Add discussion flow to every event/booking/...

    It should be possible to have a discussion flow on every event/booking/milestone/resources/... with notifications/tag/@[Name]/... as any other social interaction.

  11. Use 3rd part links in context menu

    Please add option to show 3rd party links on context menu for both Resource and Project entities.

    Now I can add links to the resource to the HR system, LinkedIn or another system, but I want to use the links anywhere in HubPlanner.

    For example
    * I'm planning a project and I want to know if the resource was working on a similarly large project.
    * It would be useful to select from the context menu link to LinkedIn or CRM system and directly open a page with related information in new tab/window.

    Similarly it can be used for projects.…

  13. Allow projects with same name in different project groups

    Im using groups when a customer has more than one projekt.
    eg I have "customer A"as group and projects "development" and "marketing" as projekts in that group.
    Unfortunately I am not allowed to use project names like "marketing" for different clients.
    Would be great if I could do so.

  14. Timesheets - Day View Multiple Entries

    I have 20 entries a week. I work on multiple entries a day, multiple times. I must assign my time in 15 minute blocks.

    I propose a Day View, so I can allocate 15 minutes here or there, and Hub Planner adds them up.

    At the moment I keep notepad.exe open and record the times. At the end of the day/week I transfer them to Hubby.

  15. Conditional Categories for Event

    We use events for tracking all sorts of non-bookable timeslots, fx vacation, external courses, exams, etc.

    We use categories to track if a project is Billable, An Investment and so on.

    It would be great if we could create conditions between a type of event and the category, so that a Vacation is automatically non-billable.

  16. calendar viewing options

    I understand most of the world starts working on Monday, but it would be great to have the option to start our week on Sundays as well, as all of the GCC countries start on Sunday. This should be a viewing preference that is individually changed. I mention this because in our case, we have offices in Dubai (start Sunday) and Singapore (start Monday), and we don't want to change this globally. We need each of our employees to be able to control how they view their weeks.

  17. System Admin Priveleges

    Be able to run system log reports on user data (access statistics, profile settings and/or changes, background instance data, etc.). This is pretty standard in most systems so it's surprising that Hub Planner doesn't have any "role" option that allows a super user access to the instance. Even the "owner role" doesn't allow these privileges. This includes logging in as another user to troubleshoot or train. Please add something to allow us the control of own instance as a sysadmin.

  18. Ability to support a Fiscal Year (Jun 2016 - May 2017) with Weeks number 1 - 52.

    A lot of companies operate on Fiscal Years vs. calendar years.

  19. serversync for new information availability

    When the planner is open in a browsertab, do an interval based backgroundsync with the server and report if new information is available (e.g. some sort of layover balloon at the top of the page to advise the user to refresh the page)

  20. All vacation data on one screen

    Would be great to see all the info listed below (preferably on one screen):
    a. all vacation requests
    b. + their previous approved requests
    c. +available days left
    d. +project(s) they involved
    e. and even other people involved to that projects (to avoid overlap)
